A very warm welcome to our website.

Ardkeeran NS is situated in the village of Riverstown, Co.Sligo. We provide a welcoming, inclusive, caring, and safe environment where all pupils are equally respected.

Every child is welcome, and we encourage, motivate, and inspire every child to be the best they can be.

We have highly motivated teachers who, with the support of our wonderful SNAs work tirelessly to provide the highest quality teaching experiences to our pupils.

Our school community is made up of 111 wonderful pupils, 9 teachers, 3 SNAs, our secretary, Maeve, and our caretaker, Alice.

I would like to thank you for visiting our website. You will find lots of information about our school and the amazing work that goes on there. You can also visit our Facebook page to see even more photographs.

We are involved in many initiatives such as Active Flag, Amber Flag, Green Flag, Discover Primary Maths and Science, Shared Education and we have a newly formed “Student Council”.

We also have lots of sport such as swimming, GAA, Rugby and Soccer. The children also get numerous opportunities to go on educational trips.

Well done to all our winners of our Easter raffle. Thanks to everyone for supporting our school and thanks to the Student Council for all their work organising the raffle. Thanks also to the Parents’ Association for sponsoring the hamper. We raised €502.50🐣
The student council presented a cheque of €1,222 to a representative from the North West Hospice. This is half the funds raised by the parent’s association at the school Christmas concert. This worthy charity is close to our hearts as our former principal of Ardkeeran N.S., Mr. Higgins, sadly passed away this year.
Well done to our girl's soccer team who won all of their matches to progress to the county final next month. 🙌🙌

It was great to see so many grandparents join us for Grandparent's Day 2026. Thanks to Fr. Declan for celebrating a lovely mass and to the Parent's Association for hosting us all so well in the hall afterwards.
