Day 3 of our BLAST artist Sarah’s visit was absolutely buzzing with activity. Today we explored the world of bees — we examined preserved bees up close, learned why they’re so important, and discovered how they help pollinate the plants around us. The children created fantastic mixed‑media bees using card, felt and even greaseproof paper, and then moved on to making 3D clay bees with clay, string and sycamore seeds for wings. It was great fun from start to finish, and we’re already looking forward to Session 4.
