Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Class had a fantastic visit from our friends at EirGrid today. The children learned all about where electricity comes from and how it travels around Ireland, asking brilliant questions and sharing their own ideas. They also had great fun building their own mini turbines, making human circuits and seeing how energy can be created. EirGrid kindly surprised us with lovely gifts, including pencils and notebooks, which the pupils were delighted with. It was a wonderful shared experience, and everyone enjoyed working and learning together.
