Engineers Week
5th Mar 2026
Third and Fourth Class had a brilliant time celebrating Engineers Week. The children designed and built their own towers, then tested them on our “earthquake simulator” to see which structures could stay standing the longest. They quickly discovered that towers with wide, stable bases were much better at withstanding the shaking. We also explored engineering on the iPads through problem‑solving games, and the class built paper bridges to test how much weight they could hold. One of their favourite discoveries was that adding an arch underneath a bridge makes it much stronger and helps it support heavier loads.
