St Brigid's Crosses
31st Jan 2026
Third and Fourth Class enjoyed making St Brigid’s crosses, carefully folding and weaving the rushes into shape. The activity turned into a lovely bit of informal maths, too — withoit even realising, the children chatted about right angles, symmetry, patterns, and equal lengths as they worked. It was a hands‑on way to blend tradition with a little mathematical thinking, and the finished crosses looked fantastic.
